Michael Simpson – Director

Michael Simpson is a Director in AArete’s healthcare practice. He has considerable experience driving cost savings across key Health Plan savings levers including: Payment Integrity, Network Management, and Utilization Management. Mike has been instrumental in achieving more than $125M+ in cost savings across multiple Managed Care Plans.

Mike leverages deep industry expertise, data analysis, and detailed operational processes to engage with stakeholders and drive sustainable, strategic, and financial improvements. Mike has extensive experience working with managed care organizations to achieve operational efficiencies and improve end-to-end processes

Participant in AArete’s Payment Intelligence group by providing Health Plans with financial over/underpayment analysis and opportunities through the review of Payment Policies, Risk Delegated Contract Review (DOFR, Risk Pool, Cap Payment Accuracy, etc.) as well as thorough review of Benefit Administration, Fee for Service Contract Configuration, Prior Authorization review, etc.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
